News from Punjab IP ASP Site in connection GP 4600

ADJOURNMENTs...not a matter of worry

I have gone through the contents/comments submitted by our comrades on GRADE PAY issue on postal inspector blog for grade pay hike and find that some of the comrades are much concerned for the repeated adjournments. Though for some one the adjournments  may be out of an anxiety but sometimes, if taken positively, can be beneficial for us. Perhaps, there may be possibility that the respondent may not has any point to argue. If one goes through the contents of original petition and subsequent rejoinders prepared and filed by Shri Parmanand, there is nothing to refute by the Department. As such, it seems that Department may attempt to put on record before the Hon’ble Tribunal on 09.03.2011 that case is under consideration with the department for grant of GP of Rs 4600/- to IP and in the meantime may re-submit pay parity file to Ministry of Finance. Now it is time that our Association should also exert pressure on Department simultaneously. Our GS should dish up agitational program as has been already chalked out and having node from Punjab Circle. We should not comment on the adjournment issue as the verdict is issued only after granting reasonable opportunity to all the concerned.

It is naive to believe that the Govt. will do anything favourable on its own to grant upgraded GP to IPs. On the other hand the Govt. through counter affidavit and reply to rejoinders have put its best effort to see that the benefit does not go to the IP cadre. We have no information on the point of DOP moving in a favourable direction. At this stage CAT case is the only hope. If judgement comes in favour of IP cadre it will not due to the magnanimity of the Department/Govt. but due to the hardwork done by Sri Parmanand and Co. 1. Whatever be the result of CAT case, we admit that the issue of Grade Pay of Inspector Posts is strongly put before the Tribunal. The work of Permanand and Inspectors of Kerala Circle is appreciable. As an Association, we should also take some fruitful action.
